STIHL MSA 220 C-B 36V Cordless Chainsaw (AP System, Tool Only) - 14"

The STIHL MSA 220 C-B is a 36V cordless chainsaw built on STIHL's AP battery system, giving homeowners and light-duty professionals zero-exhaust-emission cutting power without pull-starting or mixed fuel. This listing is tool only, so an AP-series battery and charger will need to be purchased separately.

More power than the previous generation

STIHL rates the MSA 220 C-B as delivering 250 watts more power than the model it replaces, giving it enough torque for regular limbing, felling small trees, and general yard cutting on battery power alone.

Quiet, emissions-free operation

With zero exhaust emissions and lower noise than a gas saw, the MSA 220 C-B is suited to cutting near the house, in the evening, or in settings where a gas engine would be unwelcome.

Low-maintenance by design

A tool-free Quick Chain Adjuster lets users tension the chain without a scrench, an Ematic lubrication system reduces oil consumption, and an IPX4 weather-resistant rating means light rain will not stop a job partway through.

Frequently asked questions

Does this include a battery and charger?

No. This is the bare tool (MSA 220 C-B); it runs on STIHL AP System or ALLPRO batteries, which are sold separately along with a compatible charger.

How much run time can I expect?

Run time depends on the battery used; STIHL rates roughly 40 minutes of cutting with an AP 300 S battery, though actual results vary with wood type and cutting style.

Is it powerful enough for felling small trees?

Yes, within its class. STIHL positions the MSA 220 C-B for tasks from limbing to felling smaller trees, with 250 watts more power than the previous-generation model.
